Chapter 1: Chronicles Of A Zulu Kasi Princess (Page 9)
"The biggest adventure you
can take is to live the life of your dreams". Oprah Winfrey
While
Mamcane is busy with her laundry outside, Lindiwe finished feeding the kids,
the house is clean and on the other hand she's busy baking behind the Zozo from
a digged up hole under the soil. The baking smell is dancing in the house and the kids
eyes are sleek with happiness.
Mmmmh, she is smelling the cookies while standing on the door with her wet
light green khiba mounted colourful pecks on top. She
breathed heavily, and enquired where's Lindiwe bantu?
I'm
here, Ncane! Ooh I have got letters for you. The transformed Lindiwe spend her
weekends writing to different baking schools to get a scholarship to study
culinary.
Eversince
she tried out new recipes and, to bake for the family her inner vision
has rose from the dead. Studying Administration was a way for her to get money
and take care of Sihle but after the two kids came in close space, she had lost
the passion but studied to pass the course work and get employed.
I
love receiving letters, she murmured. Aunty Betty gave her the letters, take mtwanami. Her face froze as it
always felt like a dream. She had forgotten about her past and focusing on a better
future now. Somehow she sniffed a success in one of the things she's been up to lately.

Before
finishing to read the letter, Lindiwe screamed ... Oooooooh yes , ooooh
yeeeeeeeees and her face beamed with joy. She froze for few seconds.
For a minute Aunty Betty asked, What my child? Ncane asked. She answered: remember I applied for a post when we went to withdraw your money in town. Aunty Betty nod her head fast so she could hear the whole story, her stomach is turning. Big eyes out, feet stamping on the floor. Finally Lindiwe says it, I got the job.
Yoooooooh mtwanami, tell me you joking my girl. Nooooooo nkosi yami, the 52-year-old wept. No ungadlali ngami, her goal was to see this young girl responsible and taking care of her children. Now that is happening right infront of her eyes she cant believe it. You know to be honest Lindiwe, I never thought this day will come. Wait Ncane, let me read the second letter, wait. It was her lucky day. Two letters giving her an opportunity to live her dream. Never had she thought, she will get a scholarship at Maboneng Precent Culinary school. Nothing is freeing as been given the opportunity to study and work in something you passionate about. For 6 months, she will be trained to be the best chef in South Africa.

Baby,
I am so happy and proud of you. The enemy is not happy I know but God is
showing us who He is and what He can do. I know that you hate church sometimes, but joining a
church and tithing will open more doors for you. Mtwanami, I have been praying
to God telling Him to protect you from this devil called uTshepo. Look at you now,
he is just an air. We talk about him without emotions today. Lindiwe is smiling,
listening to her aunt and she then realised it's been almost 8months not
seeing uTshepo and she's very happy with her life ever since she stopped
stressing over him. Look at you Mtwanami, your real colour is coming out. The
real you, the Lindiwe I know. Aunty run out of words and said: you are hustler. Ayeye my child is going to spoil me, said Aunty Betty excited about Lindiwe's good news.
