Chapter 1: Chronicles Of A Zulu Kasi Princess (Page 12)
There are no
accidental meetings between souls. —Sheila Burke.
It
does not matter where you start but it matters where you end. Life for Boipelo
looks hopeful, her name has been changed to Mpho-entle after her mom told her
that the name Boipelo was cursed by her in-laws. Her salvation journey was
given a second chance she believed; after she met someone who was into
preaching the word of God. She was charmed by his devotion, independence and the
fact that he was from a rich family.
After
leading Tumi on, requesting to be married; lobola negotiations began and Boipelo
did not care about Tumi’s feelings, she could not afford to wake up every day
with a man who did not satisfy her sexually and spiritually. She wanted to be
with someone who made her heart beat faster and a lot harder every time she
wakes up with them. She kept on turning over new leaves and spoil the chance every
time she re-invented herself. But she is now serious to let go of the old and
be the new person, new beautiful gift her mom awaited for.
After
years of drifting from one boyfriend to another; the beginning of a new life
and everyone around her believed that she has changed besides Tumi, who knew
her dark secrets. The new Boipelo dropped by Nando’s to see her friend,
Lindiwe.
Wearing
an orange dress, with dark green flops that complimented the dark chocolate;
heart-shaped face that looked surprised after Peter Sono praised Lindiwe for
the scholarship as she was preparing to go to London South Bank University to
get a national certificate in Bread and flour confectionary baking. He thought
they are sister when Boipelo introduced herself as a secret admirer.
Peter
said: Gaining a qualification in something you love must be the best feeling
ever neh, he was fond of Lindiwe. But Boipelo was stunned, a girl she used to
give dikromola at primary school is
now going to London. Life is really unanticipated, she murmured looking at the
fancy-faced radiant Lindiwe; looking sporty and stylish in a Nando’s uniform. She
made everything look bright and beautiful. Sono used to say she’s the light
bulb that brightened the Sunnyside Nando’s restaurant, who wouldn’t be charmed
by her; she was such a hard-worker hence the Nandos CEO also noticed the
changes in shop. She had a way with food and presentation.
A
bubbly bold Boipelo look dazed when Lindiwe says, mgani I thought ungikwatele
and look at you African queen. You look ravishing, she said pulling the chair
for Boipelo to sit down while the steam of sizzling hot grilled chickens aroma
drove their juicy mgozi made them to
appear as civilised and spirited. You know me girl, always have been the
spotlight answered Boipelo, with a hint of jealousy she said: maybe I should
come here and be the spotlight. The both
laughed.
Tjo
mgani, you can’t believe uTumi embarrassed me last month, said Boipelo. Auuuw mgani, Lindiwe commented to hear
the story in full. Before I can even start, ‘please bring me a Savannah dry
please; she flaunted her bold pink manicure while Lindiwe requested her other
friend in the shop to bring drinks. Boipelo’s essence of royalty called for
attention in the eyes of strangers.
Making
a racket at her friend’s workplace wearing a 28 inch Brazillian wig, she told
Lindiwe that she called the wedding off, tjo mgani, “I deleted the Facebook
status updates, photos, engagement and the comments gape- alles” what was I thinking. You lie, after you have worked so
hard to send signals, said Lindiwe who knew how desperate her friend was to
clean her past by marrying uTumi. But now my friend, said Boipelo looking exceedingly
dark brown with a trendy purple matte lipstick on. She was indeed a lover of
things, she all the types of MAC lipstick. Aowa mgani, “I cant live the rest of
my life with a man who is uncircumcised”.
Lindiwe
was surprised to hear all the remarks that makes Boipelo to justify leaving a
guy who was so patient and compassionate towards her. But she hoped that the
new London guy who swept her friends
feet, can be all that she desired because she knew her friend as someone who
found it hard to stay in relationships; there was always something wrong in the
long run. Boipelo enjoyed talking about herself, nothing special or worthy expected
from Lindiwe’s life besides uTshepo, who is now expired in their conversations
and turning heads in Kasi with his brand new light blue Jaguar, and quite frankly Lindiwe could not care less until Tshepo
entered the restaurant with his two colleagues. “Friend I think I need to go
back to work” said Lindiwe going back to the cashiers tillpoint.
Is it really over between Mr "T" and Princess Linda?
